I think half the reason people are drawn to the label is because of their cutesy packaging and another half the reason is because of the celeb status of the label, i remember back in 2003, every other IT girl in the hollywood will be wearing the famous velour tracksuit with their Ipod by their side...now the terry cloth fever have just caught on in SG, but given the much jack up price tags, I doubt it will hit the mass as much as the states. Nevertheless, lucky for me, I can still enjoy shopping using my staff purchase discount.

My favourite things from the label are in fact the accessories....a little on the young side but still I can't help it....heheheh

Scary how time flies, as we are approaching 2008, I just realised how crazy this year has been! New friends, new faces, a few hiccups, 2 job change...its amazing how much I have "accomplished" this year. Officially 2.5 months into my new role as Merchandise Specialist and loving every min of it. I guess I can say that I am a blessed child that things been pretty smooth for me.

To recap the year...

Jan - Mar

The first quarter of the year was still learning at the new job at Takashimaya, got transferred up to the office and given the opportunity to oversee operations for Branded Boutiques. Make some new friends, got some amazing bargains, of course lets not forget about NYS, my first ever project since my return.

Broke up with Yos and met some other random guys. Luck with guys been good but as usual dies off fast...

Apr - Jun

Officially a quarter of a century, celebrated by giving myself a little trip to beloved tokyo. Nothing beats re-visiting my fave city. Tokyo and I have this connection, I guess I will keep to my promise of visiting her every year. George been a great host and made my trip memorable as ever.

July - Sep

Started new job as account exec at Viscion Media Group, pretty exciting I should say, lots of freebies and parties. Welcome to the media industry where glamour and fun awaits you. Did not think the job suits me as much as I would like it to be. Found On Pedder job and got hired!

Half of 2007 has just flew past...I have now finally understood the meaning of time flies...As always, with all my rumbling thoughts...I begin to ponder over the purpose of life, I know, every individual has their own define purpose of life and everyone probably has a different one. So what is mine? I'm into a quarter of a century and what have I achieved so far...And what impact have I made in others lives? If I were to die tomorrow, what would I be remembered as?

For me, I equate my purpose of life with how impactful your life is when you're alive. I always think death is the final destination of every living human and that if the journey of everyday living is a learning process where we are faced with numerous tests and challenges, then death is probably the evaluation of how you have fared in life.

Say, the average life of a healthy being is 70-80 years tops, minus the first 15 and last 15 years which you can't really do much, you're probably left with 40 or so years to prove your mark and yet at the same time achieve happiness. I've used up 10 (15+10=25), I'm left with 30 yrs and that is provided if I were to live up to the age of 70 - 80. 15 years devoted to career, 10 years to offsprings if I were to have any...that leaves me with 5 years to myself... Scary thought huh....

A year older, but none the wiser

Can't believe how fast time has flew passed...What seems like yesterday was my last birthday at our Burwood townhouse, bbq party, just a small gathering of friends...This year, birthday was spent with some new-made friends whom I've known less than a month. Mmm, should I say at least I didnt spend it single and alone.

Yes, single...after 2 years of having to only think about that special someone, its finally over. Well, it was a mutual rational decision. Afterall, we both know this won't last. That was not the kind of relationship that I'm looking for, neither is he. We are so different, tho I must admit that was probably the happiest and healthiest relationship that I've ever experienced.

Who would have thought life back in Singapore might really be working out for me. I have been so busy with work, activities etc etc, having a committed relationship is prob the last thing I have in mind. Been partying and meeting new people and as shameful as I must admit, I actually love it! I don't even feel a tint of guilt for saying this despite I was having a boyfriend. I guess that was the trigger of our break-up.

The next exciting thing for me now would be my Japan trip on the 25th this month, a expensive treat for myself for working so hard (not really) since the beginning. I really love being in this industry, don't think I will leave it. Building my career would be my next step in life. Till then, wishing myself to be a happy 25 year old. Afterall, like what they all say, a year older but none the wiser... Well, I want to be happy everyday at least till my next birthday. Cheers!

- Bad : Alice's leaving...She's like the sweetest manager...can't bear to see her leave. Well, she's leaving for some good reasons tho. Hope she'll will have an awesome time in Canberra

- Best : Shopping in Singapore! You can find everything here...well almost, if only clothing are a little improved on the quality

- Progressing- I'm finally quitting smoking, well almost...trying stage...I dont want to promise anything but I am trying

31th August----Back to the familiar humid air, hawker food with lots of chilli sauce, heartland shopping, abundance of nightclubs despite no cute guys...where else can it be? A month of anticipation....and finally my baby visited!

Ended my job at Gucci Australia, good experience tho not neccessarily pleasant ones but nevertheless made some new friends. Carrie's this Guangzhou girl whom I met at Gucci, we can talk about almost everything under the sun, well, moon most of the time...Polly, Hong Kong girl who's also studying at Deakin, fashionista who's never been seen unpolished...
Ayako san, Japanese lady, earnest hard-working woman who prob the only decent full-timer there...The rest?not worth mentioning...
My effort there was well paid off at least...bought a pair of ballet flats for 125AUD and a pair of pumps for 75AUD!!!super duper bargain for Guccis. Mimi bought a jumper for that price range too! This is prob the only best thing that ever happened to me at Gucci apart from the girls I met.

Officially completed my university student life and seriously thinking about the future...wanted to apply for De Facto but gave up in the end...Both Mimi and I were not ready...Deep inside, we bothknow that we are unsure...unsure of our future together, unsure if passion can last bet us til the end, unsure if we can make each other truely happy from what we have....sad but somehow, it just doesnt feel right yet. I think Mimi feels the same. We have reach the level where I know what he's thinking and so does he. He holds a very significant part in my life, not just as my love but also my best friend...sometimes, I'm wondering, is my feelings towards him steering towards soul mate rather than lover....worried but need to do so cause I strongly believe in "Time will tell". Went for the Bettina Liano sales with Twins and Sally. The sales was a massive mess with really nasty looking jeans, really old and out-dated tops and some other hideous dresses and skirts. We spent a good 2hrs in there digging up the good ones and I ended up getting 3 tops (one that's most probably on impulse) and a cute little skirt. Oh and by the way, I really have to mention about the communal fitting area which is really just a corner on the second floor curtained with a black cloth. Haven't blog for a long time. Well, I've been pretty lazy and just couldn't be bothered with the whole blogging thing. So just in case you're wondering what I've been doing for the past three months( not like anyone is going to read this but anyway...) After the CNY, everyone's back. Fai moved in with us, I work in telesales for 3 weeks, got sacked, back to being a bum again. Time's really flying like nobody's business and I'm really starting to feel apprehensive about my future. Been feeling stressed and I must really give credit to my boy for being with me on this rollercoaster ride. The good thing is I've bougth some really nice stuffs lately, thanks to vogue forum and e-bay and from my 3 weeks of work, I've actually got paid $1000+ which is really good money hey! Well, you thought that I would actually save all that money up but no, I've spent most of it on clothing( for myself and Yosuke)hehe. Anyway, my boy bought me my b'day prez and guess what it is?? A Chanel bag. I was like WOW!!! Well, actually I kinda push him to buy it for me but still...he's sweet enough to part with a thousand dollars to make me happy. Its the time of the year again where we collect ang baos...but for me, its probably the 4th year in a row that I've stop receiving Ang Baos and having reunion dinner with my family. In fact, Chinese New Year does not hold much significant meaning to me.Sad right?

Great summer of love

By love, I don't mean love between a man and a woman. Its more like love for everything... For me, summer feels like everything comes out of its gloom and into the bloom(more like spring maybe), the smell of freshly sun-dried laundry, human contacts feel less intimidating because of the absence of thick layer of coats and jackets. Everything feels so warm and pleasant. Of course, on some days, the heat can be really annoying that makes you want to pull your hair out but I still prefer it to the cold hard winter. Maybe because I like longer day and shorter nights, I feel that I can do more and it just feels like I have more time compared to winter.

The only thing I miss in Melbourne is probably the beach, I miss going to the beach and on hot days in Melbourne, going to the beach is probably as good as going to Sahara, its just too hot. And during winter, no one will think of going to the beach. Maybe its just me, I don't know. So back to summer of love...we always hear things like finding your summer love, having a summer fling, taking a summer break...all associated with love and romance. I don't know where it came from but accordingly, summer increase your libido, creates more chemical in your brain and makes you feel more sexual. Strangly, it doesn't work for me...on the contrary, I feel too sweaty to have sex, too occupied with things which I don't do during winter, too indulge in too many tubs of Ben and Jerry that sex is like the last thing on my mind.hehe...perhaps the heat melts away the guilt of ice-cream, it just feels like pure heaven sitting in the lounge with a tub of Ben & Jerry while watching OC.

I did tons of shopping lately, just to make sure I didn't miss out on any good bargains, ended up buying more than I really need. Nevertheless, everything I've bought so far are pretty good deals that got slashed down by a lot.

These are all my fave Australia labels, especially Alannah Hill . This brought back to the discussion on the 'LADY' movement. the LA fashion these days has been pretty much dominated by haute couture, the 50s feminity, vintage and antique look. I was looking at Alannah Hill website the other day and I'm like totally inspired by her. Alannah Hill is this Tasmania small town girl who grew up in a impoverished milk bar, she came to Melbourne at the age of 17 with 2 suitcases and $70 of which $30 was spent on cab fare to the city. She was then offered a job in one of the boutiques on Chapel Street and worked for 10 over years before starting her own label. She's currently living with her son with no mention of husband/boyfriend/partner whatsoever.

I'm not sure why but it seems like most successful designers usually are single or love troubles seems to strike them like a trade-off for vanity. Creating vanity is probably a sin that God forbids more than those who indulge in beauty. It like the drug seller is definitely more sinful than the drug users (not exactly the kind of comparison people will approve on but anyway...)I guess most successful designers and artists have really extraordinary kind of lives, Coco Chanel

I can't believe how fast my holidays is going...in another 2 weeks, I'll be having my examinations and i'll be left with only 1 unit left for my next semester. I'm still thinking whether to stay and apply for a PR or go home...boring stuffs.

Last weekend, Shereen came to melbourne. We went for some Italian paste on Lygon followed by Seasons at boulevard next to crown. We thought it was going to be super boring cos' no one wanted to go. So anyway, we went and guess who we saw? Yosuke's friend, James. Apparently, he was here on some work thing and James's work friend whose name is Jeremy as well. Funny,not just his name is alike, their physique and face look pretty much similar to me too. So anyway, in this kind of situation, two single soul from Sydney came to Melbourne for the weekends and found themselves standing next to a stunning stewardess who is Yosuke's gf's friend, what do you think will happen? Duh!?Of course 'kao' her lah! I swear that James was so groping her the whole night, she had to run to the bathroom all the time just to 'siam' him.haha. but luckily, we managed to take both of them home and no one's 'hurt' that night, Thank god!

Shereen is my ex poly classmate, we gotten closer during our attachment in the last year, come to think about it, it was pretty good fun, and funny in a way that almost all the girls who got posted there were all the pretty ones from BEM(not including myself). There was Pamela, Shereen, Janice, and some other girls. That's the thing about meeting ex school mates...there's always a sense of nostalgia, relieving all the sweet and bitter memories...that was the last school that I attended in Singapore. I can't imagine how it would be like to meet secondary school mates...The weirdness of meeting someone that u were once close to, shared all you intimate secrets, you infaturation on the guy-next-class, discussion about ambitions, what it is going to be like in the next 10 years....Fast-forward 8 years now...There you are...Far from your 'I want to be a adventurer' dream and slogging away in a 9-6 job in your tiny cubicle...The biggest adventure you can ever get is that pretending to be SARS infected so that you can get 2weeks off.haha. that's mean! Dreamz, I wonder how many have actually stick to their heart and actually succeeded....

My dream, you would like to ask? Live in ancient Rome, live the life of a Roman warrior and elope with the princess. We will elope to a new country, say egypt. I will open a restaurant, sell roman sweets, my princess will be tending the registry, I'll be cooking and inventing new pastry always... 2years on, my princess wife give birth to our first born...I'll name him Alexander.lol. I think I'm getting my history mixed up...it was Alexander who visited eygpt..to be cont' .....maybe?

It's the start of another boring week...I can't believe how lazy I've been lately...So what did I do last week...absolutely nothing...Yosuke and I went to Antiken's birthday in Y2K (It's a karaoke btw) on Thursday. I met up with the gang twice last week as Yosuke has been really busy with his shoot. We barely talk this week and it's been really frustrating for me...guess I really have to learn how to deal with loneliness. (　┰_┰)

Having lots of random thoughts these days... things like cycle of life, ageing, death, how pointless is that...I don't know why but these days i just keep hearing people talk about finding job, buying a house, getting married...I'm like : "What's the hurry? Why is everyone rushing to do all these adult stuffs..." . Maybe I'm the one who's not mature...I mean at the age of 24, I'm sure everyone's thinking of doing sth constructive, and working towards their goal. But I'm just not ready. I find that this post is really quite meaningless...

Pink!Yes!Pink's my fave colour...love everything pink!pink clothes, pink bag, pink shoes, pink nails,pink sheets, pink everything....I was contemplating whether to get the pink panasonic phone or the LG U880. Being a 3 customer, I got the LG one. This phone is so awesome!has all the functions that I need (given that I am not really tech-savvy), the best part of it is its PINK!

Melbourne 's having sales everywhere at the moment. I heard from the locals here that they're usually having massive sales this time of the year... but I can't really find anything that caught my eyes or anything that is in my size...or things that I like are not having much of a sale...$20 off the normal price is nothing compared to the summer/winter bargain sales in Japan or the Great Singapore Sales back home. Nevertheless, I still managed to snap up some really cheap camis from Decjuba at $10 each!I bought 3!!hehe... Decjuba has some really sweet dresses, similar to Alannah Hill but at a more affordable price.

Bettina Liano's having some sales as well, not much though...I got this faded ace-cut jeans for $150 (RRP $225). I guess its still pretty worth it.

I have got a pair of indigo ace and I swear that it is one of the best pair of jeans I've ever bought, the cut and color's so awesome, it goes with everything. No wonder, there are so many celebs seeking them. Skinny legs has been around for quite some time now...I reckon next season might be something different. speaking of which, I haven't been reading the mags lately...I don't know why, but I just wont get hook on Aussie mags...absolutely can't beat Japanese mags like VIVI,JJ, and Cam Cam. so much for now...Happy New Year!
